This is my newest instrument - A ukelele, or rather a harp-uke based on instruments created by Chris Knutsen. Knutsen built harp guitars and was a prolific builder of hawaiian guitars. In the first part of this century, his history is very well documented in a recent book by Tom Noe and Dan Most, which is available at www.noeenterprises.co m.

The harp-uke pictured here has a spruce soundboard with cypress back and sides. The trimwork and fingerboard are of African blackwood.
